Strategic Engagement Agreements

Strategic Engagement Agreements, (SEA’s), are when parties are interested in furthering reconciliation through the co-development of forms of shared decision-making, including exploration of consent-based decision making.

Though most SEA’s are between Provincial and Federal governments and the Indigenous community, we are encouraging Municipalities, Cities and Towns to strategically position themselves for strategic engagement with Canada’s Indigenous community.

Five specific and four general Calls to Action of the TRC speak directly to Canada’s Municipalities, Cities and Towns! The engagement strategy we are proposing creates an environment for inclusion that has never existed before.
