God’s River First Nation, known traditionally as Manto Sipi Cree Nation, is located in northeastern Manitoba along the banks of the majestic God’s River. Home to approximately 1,000 members, the Nation is a close-knit Cree community with a strong cultural identity and a deep connection to the land and water that sustain it. Its geographic position within the Hudson Bay Lowlands provides access to rich natural resources and positions the community as an important link in Manitoba’s northern transportation and resource network. The Nation is steadily advancing its vision for self-sufficiency through investments in housing, infrastructure, and education, while developing opportunities in construction, aviation services, energy, and eco-tourism. Manto Sipi Cree Nation’s leadership continues to champion renewable energy and sustainable resource initiatives that align with traditional values and environmental stewardship. By prioritizing youth training, local entrepreneurship, and digital inclusion, the community is preparing for a future built on innovation and resilience. God’s River First Nation believes that reconciliation thrives when collaboration leads to opportunity and shared prosperity. Through strong partnerships with governments, corporations, and other Indigenous Nations, Manto Sipi Cree Nation continues to demonstrate that northern communities are not just participants in Manitoba’s growth—they are essential leaders shaping the province’s sustainable economic future.
